Welcome

My many years of clinical work with bright and engaged students who struggle to achieve in our traditional educational system peaked my interest in Executive Functions and the field of ADD coaching. These students are typically bewildered and/or discouraged by their inability to get work done on time, handed in, and meet project deadlines while keeping up with their friendships and out of school activities. I see young people feeling stuck, overwhelmed and frustrated – for very good reasons!

Thanks to the field of brain science, we now know so much about students struggling with ADD and/or Executive Functioning weaknesses. In particular, we now know that these talented and smart young people lack the internal hard wiring which allows them to successfully manage their work and themselves in an optimal way. In this kind of Coaching, I help students understand how the Executive Functioning system impacts everyday life, including academic performance, friendships and family life. Together, we figure out realistic goals, identify strategies to work around obstacles, and create a road map that will help build momentum toward achieving these goals. This process nurtures self esteem and builds self confidence.

When students and young adults are willing to make concrete changes in the way they organize themselves and how they get work done, coaching becomes a very effective resource. ADD Coaching is a good match for students who are willing to work collaboratively to receive support – or are willing to see how that feels – in order to figure out what they need to succeed in various aspects of their lives.

Please look at the Coaching Forms in the “Forms" section of my website for more information about the scheduling and fees for coaching services.

I welcome the opportunity to talk with you further about ADD coaching.
